McCoy to Host County Executives of America Conference; Session Topics Include Oil Trains, Senior Issues, Indigent Legal Services and Higher Education

Albany County Executive McCoy will be joined by county executives from across New York State for a day-long meeting and discussion of topical issues facing county governments in New York and the nation including oil trains, services for the Aging, higher education and legal services for indigent defendants. 

McCoy and Albany County will host the session in his role as Vice President of the Northeast Region of County Executives of America (CEA), a nationwide association of chief elected county officials. Joining the County Executive will be CEA President-Elect Ike Leggett, the County Executive of Montgomery Co., Md. and CEA Executive Director Michael Griffin.

The meeting will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn at Albany Medical Center, at 62 New Scotland Ave. in Albany.  The schedule for Wednesday, August 12 is as follows:

Partners in Higher Education 3:45 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Albany County and Schenectady County Community College have partnered to bring affordable and access to higher education to Albany by placing a downtown campus in the Albany County Office Building. There will be a tour of the campus and a conversation with Dr. Steady Moono, President of Schenectady County Community College.

County Executives of America (CEA) is the only non-partisan association dedicated specifically to chief elected county officials and has spent over 40 years helping county leaders reach their goals. This CEA conference has been done in partnership with assistance from the Albany County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Hilton Garden Inn at Albany Medical Center and Brown’s Transportation.
